2024 Year in Review
Highlight key milestones in 2024 and showcase real results UOB FinLab achieved this year
UOB FinLab is ecstatic to officially launch the GreenTech Accelerator 2024. We kicked-off the programme with a launch event in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, where we unveiled the 33 greentech finalists. This is a huge milestone for us as this year marks the second iteration of the programme and solidifies our commitment to supporting regional greentechs and sustainable innovation. We are very excited to see the shortlisted greentech’s innovative solutions and how those solutions address the challenge statements from our partners.
The GreenTech Accelerator 2024 is a 6-month regional programme for global greentechs to grow, transform, forge partnerships and pilots to meet the sustainability needs of companies.
The GreenTech Accelerator 2024 is designed to fast-track the development of sustainable technology solutions by providing access to masterclasses, over 30 world-class mentors across Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, as well as UOB FinLab’s vast network of 25,000 industry leaders including businesses, governments, SMEs, and tech suppliers. This year’s programme will also offer up to SGD100,000 for greentechs to pilot innovative, relevant and deployable solutions with businesses.
The GreenTech Accelerator 2024 builds on the successful inaugural run in 2022 that saw over 150 applications from more than 45 countries. The inaugural programme resulted in over 160 meaningful business connections, and the establishment of 8 pilots and partnerships.
Now in its second run, this year’s programme is poised to make a significant regional impact, with a focus on Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia.
During the six months, the selected greentechs will address challenge statements which tackle real-world sustainability pain points from UOB’s corporate partners to co-create solutions through partnerships and pilot projects.
UOB FinLab worked closely with its corporate partners to issue sustainability-related challenge statements that each firm is facing. The selected greentechs will work together with their respective challenge statement partner and develop innovative solutions to tackle real-world sustainability issues.
The challenge areas for 2024’s programme is in the following areas:
